Maple Ridge Farms Donates $5,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Wausau

Maple Ridge Farms has announced a charitable donation of $5,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Wausau. The donation was the result of the company’s give back program for 2022, in which Maple Ridge Farms donates a percentage of the profits from a specially selected line of gifts.

Presenting the check were Tom Riordan, President, Jodie Schillinger, Executive Vice President, and Shana Gardner, one of the main architects of the program.

Maple Ridge Farms is committed to supporting organizations that make a positive impact in the community, and Habitat for Humanity of Wausau is no exception. The donation will help fund the construction of a new Habitat for Humanity home in the community. This project will provide a deserving family with a safe and affordable place to live, helping to break the cycle of poverty and improve the overall wellbeing of the community.

Schillinger stated, “Is it not in our truest nature to want the best for one’s neighbor? Ubuntu. Homelessness and poverty are inextricably linked. The number one cause of homelessness across the US is a lack of safe, secure, and affordable housing. Habitat for Humanity not only assists with new home developments but also provides means to many along the path of home recovery and environmental clean-up by upcycling items, while nourishing an environment of volunteerism that has positive impacts on its direct community.”

Tiffany Arnold, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Wausau, explained how thrilled they were to receive the contribution: “As construction material costs continue to rise, the support from Maple Ridge Farms is more important now than ever, but this gift is an investment in more than building materials. Children who grow up in an owned home are more likely to graduate high school and go to college than their peers. Children who live in Habitat homes have a bright future ahead of them. This gift is an investment in the future of the children that will grow up in the home. Thank you for helping local families build their dreams.”
